Polysistec reduces its enviromental impact

29/11/2019

Polysistec has presented its first results achieved within the framework of this environmental management system according UNE EN ISO 14001 standard certificated by the SGS certification, recognized worldwide. After obtaining this certification last December 2018, the company has announced some of the first environmental milestones reached by this management.

Thanks to the certified environmental management system, Polysistec has achieved several results during its first year of validity, including two main lines of action:

• Energy: It has been saved almost 19,000 Kg of carbon dioxide and more than 36,000 mg/year of radioactive waste according to our local electric utility company “HolaLuz.com”. This is because of the consumption of electricity which is obtained exclusively from renewable sources.

• Water: In this environmental vector the company focused its efforts on the reuse of water supply network. Specifically, the installation of a double closed circuit of water for the cooling of machines has allowed to save more than 500 m3/year.

Currently, the company created in 1995 focuses its efforts on improving the management of its waste and more specifically on the progressive implementation of a segregation system at source for the various fractions of paper and plastics, among others. In this sense, Polysistec allocates an important economic item to environmental aspect.

Likewise, it is worth recalling the company’s participation in projects aimed at reducing the environmental impact of the chemical and textile industry, such as projects INSECTUM (2019), FIBERCLEAN (2019) and MERMAIDS (2018). These initiatives are examples of the company’s commitment to contribute to more sustainable development.
